American Museum of Natural History


A great and certainly under-rated museum is the AMNH, alongside with the Rose Center for Earth and Space. It is sitting just outside the Park, in the middle and to the West.



This is the main entrance, of course.




This is the planetarium-like Rose Center, which can be seen recently in K-Pax. Inside of this thing, you can take a Space Trek, a 20-minutes walk around the galaxy, narrated by Harrison Ford, quite impressive, and not cheap.








One very impressive item in the AMNH is this slice of a sequoia, just a few centuries old. Note they had to cut the roof to make some room here.

... and a selection of totems. Shamely we only had time to run through the museum, which has a lot to offer, in a perfect display and arrangement.




Some fake-or-not dinosaurs skeletons, including this T-Rex. It is sometimes disappoiting to read the details and discover that you are presented a completely fake skeleton. But hey, this is america too.
